French commune located at the border of France-Luxembourg has a high rate of traffic due to its location being on the main road for the «frontalier» workers who use this road for the everyday commute.
Despite being a small commune, CCPHVA receives a pretty heavy traffic flow daily. That is why the commune has decided to implement our video analytics solution to monitor the traffic flow density.
Over time, our video analytics solution has collected valuable data that can help to understand the real impact commuters make on the commune.
The accumulated analysis is anonymised by default to ensure data privacy protection, as this was imperative for the client.
The study of the collected statistical data has disclosed that the main roundabout, which merges four entry points to the main road, has more than expected pedestrians crossing. Those roads have a 90km/h speed limit and have no traffic lights nor protected pedestrian paths.
Evidently, such finding raised a question of pedestrian safety. Therefore, the administration of the commune has decided to make infrastructure changes to address the issue.
